ALABAMA
Gray Rock ORV
- Location - Mount Olive - about 12 miles from Birmingham
- Information - There's 2,100 acres of hills, woods, rock crawling and more, including the 5 rated Cable Hill and Gray Rock
Canyon
- Accommodations - Within a 12 mile perimeter of the park, you can find a bunch of hotels/motels from Best Western to Holiday Inn,
as well as the Gardendale Kampground about 5 miles away

Morris Mountain ORV Park
- Location - Anniston
- Information - 20+ trails
- Costation - Contact the park for rate information
ARKANSAS
Superlift Off-Road Park
- Location - Off Highway 70 East, about 5 miles from downtown Hot Springs
- Information - 1,254 wooded acres, you know there are already obstacles
with a reputation. Try Concrete Hill, Quicksand Hill and White Rock
on for size
- Accommodations - Camping, or head downtown if you want walls
- Costation - If you become a member, you're looking at Gold for
$250(single) or $350(family). Premier is $40 for the year, plus $10
per day per vehicle, or a $60 Family membership. Non-members pay $25
per vehicle per day for up to four passengers. If you camp, there is
a $5 tent fee per night, and RV's are $20
CALIFORNIA
Los Coyotes Indian Reservation (619)782-0711
- Location - Warner Springs in San Diego County, next door to Anza-Borrego State Park
- Information - Of the 25,049 acres on the reservation, 15 miles are
off-road trails, from easy to very difficult. However, keep in mind
that in the summer of 2004, they're converting the campground into a horse
camp, so four wheeling will no longer be allowed, only general camping
- Accommodations - Camping on the property is primitive, or you can
journey 6 miles to Warner Springs
- Costation - It's $15 per day per vehicle for off-road day use($20 if you
want to camp, and slightly more if you bring your RV), although there is a
club rate.
COLORADO
Avalanche Ranch
- Location - The base of the San Juan Mountains in the Four Corners region of Colorado, about 380 miles from Denver and 480 miles
from Phoenix
- Information - Rock crawl the famous Deuces Wild, Whipper Snapper and Sidewinder. ATV's and motorcycles can use some of the trails,
plus there's a motocross track
- Accommodations - You can camp for $10 per day or RV it for $15 each day. For multiple-day prices, head to the Ranch's site
- Costation - A yearly pass for buggies and trucks is $250, a weekly pass is $80, a weekend pass is $25, and a day pass is $15(includes
passengers)
ILLINOIS
Rockport Off-Road Park
- Location - Just 2 miles north of Junction Highway 54 and 96 in Pike County near Rockport
- Information - The 1,300 acres of Rockport include creek beds, rocks and other nasties, plus non-nasty stuff if you're not in the
mood
- Accommodations - The park doesn't yet have camping facilities, but within a 15 mile radius, you can find campgrounds and hotels
- Costation - A day pass is $20, and it's $5 for every person after one(the driver). Guided trails are $30 plus the $5 per head beyond
one person
INDIANA
Badlands Off-Road Park
- Location - In western Indiana, specifically Attica, with Lafayette around
30 minutes southwest of the park. Danville is about 35
miles away
- Information - There's rock crawling, sand dunes, hills, mud, off-camber, deep water and more on the 700 acres, whether you have a
vehicle, bike or ATV
- Accommodations - When you visit the park's website, you'll find camping and hotel info for Attica and such nearby towns as Boswell
and Lafayette
- Costation - It's $10 for a day pass, $20 for a two day pass, and $30 for a three day pass, plus $5 per passenger each day
Haspin Acres
- Location - Laurel, in Franklin County, about 50 miles from Cincinnati
- Information - A wild 750 acres means tons of windy, hilly trails for trucks, SUV's, rail buggies, dirt bikes and ATV's. There are
also motocross and dirt tracks
- Accommodations - You can camp on the premises or head to the nearest hotel, which is in Connersville
- Costation - It's $15 per person, plus $3 Liability Waiver Card that's good until January 1, 2005. The $15 also allows you to camp
on the grounds, but late charges apply if you over sleep the camp's hours
KANSAS
Cathouse Recreation Area (620)397-2575
- Location - Near Shields, 10 miles north of Dighton
- Information - There are 1,500 acres in the Smokey Hills River area, and the Heartland Off-Road Association holds its Kansas Krunch
on the property. Mild, wild, breakage or sight-seeing, choose your poison, and it's there
- Accommodations - The campground on the premises is primitive, so if that's not your style, Dighton and Scott City have motels
- Costation - Cost is $10 per person per day, or $125 for the year
MISSOURI
Sayers Brook Bison Ranch
- Location - Potosi, which is about 90 minutes from St. Louis
- Information - There's 50 miles and 14 trails of good ole mid-western wheeling on land that Jeep Jamborees and rock crawling
competitions have crawled. That's not to mention that Sayers Brook has horseback riding and fishing among its offerings, as well as the
American Off Road Training Center for learning to do the deed
- Accommodations - Some lodging is available at the ranch, but you must contact the organization for details. In Potosi, t
here's a Super 8, and about 45 minutes away in Farmington are a Best Western
and Days Inn. Campgrounds exist in Mark Twain National Forest
- Costation - Contact the park for information
NEW JERSEY
New Jersey Off Road Vehicle Park
- Location - The Pine Barrens in Chatsworth, with Atlantic City less than an hour away
- Information - It's 265 acres where 4x4's, ATV's and motorcycles can find designated spots for their outdoor adventure
- Accommodations - Camping is primitive and free to members, or it's $10 per day for guests and during special events
- Costation - It's best to check the website. You can sign up for a membership, or watch the site to find manager specials for day use
PENNSYLVANIA
Paragon Adventure Park
- Location - Hazelton, which is about two hours from both New York and Philadelphia
- Information - There's 15,000 acres with more than 130 miles of trails, and vehicles, ATV's and mountain and dirt bikes are welcome.
Jeep Jamborees, competitions and new-vehicle introductions have been held here
- Accommodations - Visit Paragon's site for a list of local hotels, motels and campgrounds, where you'll find the usual suspects just
minutes fro the park
- Costation - It's $35 per vehicle plus $5 per passenger. If you decide you want someone to take you around the land, it'll still cost
these base rates plus $125 for the Paragon guide
Rausch Creek Off-Road Park
- Location - Near Tremont and Tower City, and as with Paragon, New York and Philly residents can be here in about two hours
- Information - Rausch Creek has 1,000 acres of easy, medium and hard-core trails that include rock crawling, hill climbing and
Rock Creek; some harder trails have bypasses
- Accommodations - Camping is free with the entrance fee, or you can head to the nearby Echo Valley Campground
- Costation - There's an annual membership fee, which is $10, plus a daily entrance fee of $25 per vehicle/driver, and passengers
are $5 (kids under 10 are freebies). There is an additional fee if you want a park guide
TENNESSEE
Coal Creek OHV/Windrock ATV Club
- Location - Oliver Springs, about 150 miles from Nashville, 18 miles northwest of Knoxville, and 7 miles from Oak Ridge
- Information - There are about 62 trails, so whether you have a dirt bike, a hummer or any size in between, you should be set
at Coal Creek
- Accommodations - For camping info, visit Wind
Rock Campground, but in a nutshell, there are loads of camping options; if you
prefer hotels, Windrock's site also gives you digits for everything from Comfort Inn To Super 8

Wheelin' in the Country
- Location - Summertown, which is handy if you're coming from Nashville or Memphis
- Information - It's more than 700 acres, and there are all sorts of trails, no matter what your
thrill level, that include hills,
gullies, ravines, rock ledges and mud pits
- Accommodations - There's primitive camping onsite, and you can find camping and lodging in Summertown
- Costation - Contact the park for information
TEXAS
AGR Wheelin' Ranch
- Location - In Nocona, approximately 90 miles northwest of Dallas
- Information - This 4x4 park is open on the weekends, and it has rock crawling and washes, but know that the terrain isn't ATV or
dirt bike friendly
- Accommodations - You can stay at the Nocona Hills Campground, the Nocona Hills Motel or the Nocona Inn
- Costation - It's $20 per day for the vehicle and driver, and $5 for each passenger per day
Barnwell Mountain Recreation Center
- Location - It's 5 miles northeast of Gilmer on highway 155, about 2 hours from Dallas
- Information - It's a 1,800 acre park with flat-dirt trials to extreme wheeling
- Accommodations - Camping is available, both primitive and not. You can also stay at the Gilmer Inn or the
Executive Inn
- Costation - Day use is $15 per trail vehicle. Annual membership coasts $35 per year plus $10 for the first day and $5 for
additional days.

Kruse Off-Road Park/Katemcy Rocks
- Location - Central Texas, 10 miles north of Mason
- Information - There's 800 acres with ridges and rocks, and this site has been host to gnarly NARRCA rock crawling competitions.
Backbreaker has seen its share of rollovers, but you can also find more tame terrain, such as on Aggie Highway
- Accommodations - Camping is a little primitive, but you can go to Mason or Brady for lodging
- Costation - It's $25 for the day, including you, your rid and your tow vehicle. Passengers are $5. The park does offer a weekend
package for wheeling and camping that costs $40
Park It in Pandale
- Location - West Texas, along the Pecos River in Val Verde County. San Antonio is about five hours from Pandale
- Information - There are hills and river beds, you can wheel, hunt and kayak
- Accommodations - Cabins and campsites are available for daily, weekly or seasonal rental, and there are weekend and weekly specials,
but figure tents and RV's are $15 each day and cabins will run you between $50 to $100 each day

Primitive Acres
- Location - Mount Enterprise, near Longview and Nacodoches (where the 84 and 259 cross)
- Information - The 500 acres include trails, washes, hills and gullies. The park also has horseback riding available
- Accommodations - Primitive has camping, cabins, cottages and RV hookups, or you can travel to Mount Enterprise or Nacodoches for hotels
- Costation - You're looking at about $10 per day for driver/vehicle plus $5 per passenger
Shiloh Ridge
- Location - In northeast Texas in Alto, located off highway 69
- Information - The park has more than 1,000 acres and more than 35 miles of trails. You can play on hills, in the mud and the notably
deep mud pits and in the Rock Garden
- Accommodations - You can camp at Shiloh or head to nearby Rusk or Lufkin for Lodging
- Costation - Contact the park for more information
Trees Ranch
- Location - It's south on I-10 between Kerrville and Junction in Hill County
- Information - It's a 5,500 acres private game ranch in which you'll find all sorts of rock crawling, from day waterfalls to steep hill
climbs. Stock or modified, you're in luck here. Check out The Lathe's 5 foot steps and Hangover Hill
- Accommodations - Camping is being developed, so for the time being, it's primitive. The nearest motels are in Kerrville (60 miles away)
or Rock Springs (35 miles)
- Costation - It's $25 per vehicle for the weekend, and passengers are $5. Camping is $5 per campsite
West Texas Baja Off-Road Recreation Area
- Location - Lubbock, 8 miles west of Loop 289
- Information - Awaken your JeepSpeed demon here. There are two tracks about 1.6 miles long that feature hairpin turns, terrain
changes (hills and drop offs), rocks and off-camber moments
- Accommodations - You can find hotels and motels in the metropolis of Lubbock, as well as Ann's RV Park, KOA Kampground, Camelot Village
and others
- Costation - ATV/MC's are $10 per day, and mini-rails are $4 per lap
WISCONSIN
Ma & Pa Rockers
- Location - It's 25 miles southeast of Superior, Wisconsin
- Information - There are 6 miles of trails, including 100-plus sandy hill
climbs, and when weather permits, bring on the mud
- Accommodations - There are 30 campsites
- Costation - It's $50 per truck for two days, $60 on holiday weekends and $40 from November 1 to April 1 (winter), plus $15 per night
