Boulder Dash & Wreckin' Ball

20 November 2009

First Hammers trip this year. Friday night we set out and did Boulder Dash. Broke the front drive shaft right at the end of the trail. So I was able to just take it off and drive back to the lake bed. No big deal, take care of it in the morning.

With morning on us and the drive shaft fixed, a friend of my cousin stopped by with his 1100Hp drag car. He came out to run a trail with us on Saturday.

That car was BADASS!!!!

Since we couldn't convince him to take it out across the lake bed, we piled in our heeps and set our for Wreckin' Ball.  I was doing really well until about half way into it when I broke off a transmission cooling line. Ok, stop and plug the hole and cap off the line. Start going and I notice the drivetrain moving more than it should. I then find half the engine mount bolts missing, huh? I just tightened them up the day before I came out. No biggie, put some new ones in and off for a bit. Then the front drive shaft let loose again and punched a hole in the transmission pan. Lovely. That made for a long day winching and what not to get out off that trail. We made it back just after dark.
