Sight Tube in a Dana 300

This is a simple modification you can do if you have the transfer case out. I needed to replace the output seals, so why not. I pulled the bottom cover plate off and cleaned things up some. I then drilled two 11/32" holes, make sure you stay away from any of the internal gears. The two areas where mine our are pretty wide open. Then tap both holes with 1/8" NPT tap.

I had purchased two 1/8" NPT to -6AN adapters from Summit Racing for around 5 bucks for both. I also got some -6 90 degree 3/8" flare fittings. And some 1/2" O.D. x 3/8" I.D. clear tubing from Home Depot.  I got 10 feet of it for $5.
