Installing a Brake Controller on a F-250

I am installing a Tekonsha Prodigy break controller into my 2003 F-250. This should work on any 1999 to 2004 Ford F-250/350 Super Duty. I purchased this controller from RJay's for $106.99, and all break controllers from them come with free shipping. I also purchased the O.E.M. wire harness for Ford '99-'04 Models, part number: 3035. Enough with the chit chat and on with the install. I must say that it does'nt get much easier than this.

First off you want to take the lower panel off under the steering column, it is held on by 4 plastic 1/4 turn screws, which you will need a regular slot head screwdriver for. Once off, look behind the a/c controls and there will be a gray open square plug there. (It may be brown on some models) This is where you will plug in the O.E.M. wire harness. Then find a safe place to route the harness and also a place to mount your controller. I chose to mount mine on theouside of the panel that you just took off, since my CB is under the cubby hole that Ford put there. Ok, now for the pics!

Too the left is what is looks like when you take off tha plastic panel. And to the right you see the gray plastic connector Ford left there to plug in the O.E.M. wire harness.
Here is my O.E.M. wire harness plugged into that gray connector. And to the right is the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller mounted in my truck.
Here is the finished product mounted up in my truck. I am going to cover the wire a little better with some gray wire wrap.
